When I joined Airship Syndicate in 2023, Wayfinder was an evolving MMO action-RPG that was undergoing a major update to its UX and UI. My early focus was improving the user experience by standardizing the look and feel of the game’s menus while supporting new features. My initial responsibilities included:
Creating a new style guide to support a cohesive player experience
Wireframing new and updated menus in Figma/Adobe XD
Implementing menu and HUD elements in Unreal
Later in development, Wayfinder was redesigned as a single-player/co-operative adventure, which required significant changes to our menus and interface. With the new direction for the game, I was tasked with additional objectives:
Improving our navigation experience with new map features and quest tracking
Implemented changes to our text sizing and layout to prepare for Steam Deck verification
Collaborated with our Technical Designer to improve our UI blueprints and improve the functionality of the interface across the game
